Efficient Growth Strategy for B2B SaaS

I'm building Kelogs Crawler (https://www.kelo.gs), a SaaS audit and monitoring tool for Technical SEO.

It helps end-users to:
1/ Save a lot of ressources (time/money, bandwidth)
2/ Provide a high quality service to clients (case of SEO agency and freelance)
3/ Save the business (resurrect from a collapse of ranking in Google because of SEO issues during website migration for instance)

It has been a side project for several years.

I'm entering into the process of selling.

The targets are the followings:

Targets in terms of company:

  • E-commerce / companies with > $1M sales / year from Organic Traffic
  • SEO agencies working with > $2000 incomes / month / client
  • SEO freelance working with > $2000 incomes / month / client
  • Any website owner struggling to handle millions of pages to crawl & analyse

Targets in terms of people to reach:

  • CEO of e-commerce/companies > $1M sales / year from Organic Traffic
  • CEO of SEO Agency
  • Marketing Director / Manager
  • SEO Inhouse
  • SEO Director / Consultant
  • SEO Freelance

I'll have to find a way to talk to each target.

I would like to focus on high potential leads, and talk almost only with my ideal customers.

I thought to communicate with our audience by/while providing value to it, and while using our software to extract KPI.
It could be for instance:

  • Newsletter about the competitive environment evolution
  • Deep study about the competitive environment of the potential client
=> Both would be automated from beginning till the end.

Here are the questions:

  • Do you think it could work ?
  • How would you find early adopters ?
  • Which channel would you use to communicate ?
  • Who would you hire for the whole workflow ?
  • Do you know any successful B2B company relying heavily on this type of strategy ?

Cheers

Get Linkedin Navigator and start reaching out cold on Linkedin, or get Wiza to pull their emails for cold email.

Thanks, it sounds like a good idea !

    • Get some pilot customers going and build cases
    • Spice up the landing page with visuals and cases
    • Some word on pricing

I would be interested in a collaboration, we might have overlapping markets. I have yet to fully attack the last two for my product as well. We've been holding on mass lead emails till the roll-out and going with tapping existing network, that is slow but a foot in the door and helps with PMF.

Thanks, you are right about pilot customers. I'll focus on this, following the advices found here:
      https://stripe.com/en-se/atlas/guides/starting-sales

And yes, you are right too about website stuff ;)

Regarding collaboration, feel free to contact me at sales@kelo.gs :)

I believe companies like to see pricing.

The landing page needs a little work design wise.

Why don't you do cold outreach?

Building a newsletter and content will take a while.

Thanks, your answer is the most complete actually ! ;)

I've just started to read Paul Graham about Don't Scale (http://paulgraham.com/ds.html), looks like is pure gold in my case (Im SEO Freelance since 7 years) :

"If you build something to solve your own problems, then you only have to find your peers, which is usually straightforward."
=> I've to find people like me :)

"Sometimes the right unscalable trick is to focus on a deliberately narrow market. It's like keeping a fire contained at first to get it really hot before adding more logs."
=> Target could be: Digital Nomad Freelance specialized in Technical SEO
