Hey folks, Michael here.
I have been working in this project on and of for about a year and a half and I finally got it into a state where I can share it. I initially started this project to learn Rust and afterwards decided to make it useful for others.
Vulpo Auth is an authentication server that you can host yourself. The goal was to make it as easy as possible for you to get started and have a complete authentication solution without you having to configure anything. Project Website: https://auth.vulpo.dev
The Project contains:
Some of the features:
There is still a lot to do, the code base is full of experimental ideas and there a bunch of things to clean up, but first I want to focus on writing documentation and guides before adding more features.
Besides the missing documentation, what are you missing?
Do you offer Passwordless Auth but with Email OTP/Code instead of a link? I like this more than a confirmation link.
Good luck with this tho! The market for Auth is huge :)
My passwordless implementation is sending you a link, but if you sign in from let's say desktop, you are still able to confirm the sign in from your phone and get authenticated on your desktop.
Is that your use case of why you prefer a OTP instead?
No specific reason really, I've seen this on Notion and Slack and loved it.
With a link, I need to open the email, and then click and wait for the link to be loaded. But with an OTP I can even see the code from the push notification. Does it make sense?
It does make sense, but then you have to type the OTP.
Personally I find clicking on a link more convenient (:
muito bom, adoro programa trabalhar com codificação é melhor ainda.
very nice! really love the code view on the main dashboard
get started seems simple enough and ive been meaning to implement Google Auth! will check it out :)
Thanks! Let me know how it goes or if you need any help (:
Also, was is clear for you that the demo is an actual interactive demo of the UI?
I did :) and im glad it did something when i clicked on it lol , maybe if you had it in a different greyish background , it would help outline different sections in a subtle fashion
I have updated the landing page and it hopefully should be more clear now that it's an interactive demo (:
I initially did have a greyish background, but it was hard to make it look good.
At this point I am just hoping that people will click on it haha.
I think something like this would be useful but it comes with too many pieces that someone (myself) wouldn't want.
Does anyone know of a multi-framework (vue, react, etc) component set, with minimal configuration that enables seamless authentication?
What would be something that you don't need?
Looks really intriguing, but I want to make sure I'm understanding what this package done. Mind you, I've only checked it out for a few minutes, but I was intrigued enough to check everything out.
So, this package makes it pretty simple for someone to add user authentication to their web application? You mention there is a UI dashboard included in the package, I'm guessing this is a dashboard on how many users have authenticated to the web application?
If so, this is something I want to check out.
Yes, the goal was to make the process as simple as possible
Not only can you see your users, but also manage them (delete, update, disable) and also configure your project.
