i need business email, i may just get google for business, which costs more than all my infrastructure hosting any other options ?
What do you use for your hosting? Many hosting services offer a free email option. I used both bluehost and hostgator and I know that they both offer a free email option if you're hosting a site with them.
If you're not hosting a site, I also use Zoho Email, which was quite cheap. There are many options out there, and you can google best small business email cheap and you can see some comparisons.
My experience has been those three.
My advice is not to skimp on a good email provider. I personally use Google Workspaces but Outlook or any big provider will do. You'll be able to attached multiple domain names to the same inbox and then setup a filter rules to partition them into different folders.
Don't self host email. It's a total nightmare, prone to specialist problems. Focus on your business instead.
Don't use an email forwarding solution - that is when you have a <you>@gmail.com address then configure your email forwarding from <you>@yourdomain.com to <you>@gmail.com.
I self-hosted the business email for HeyForm using Mailcow and ran it on DO instance, the cost is much lower than hosting it at Google Workspace/Zoho.
You mean a domain email address, correct?
I use Fastmail, I think it's slightly cheaper than Gmail. I only use it because I was banned from Gmail for sending too many outbound emails. Watch out for that lol.
Or buy domain name on any registrar and use free forwarding with https://improvmx.com
You can also send emails for 100 domains from 9$/month
this is actually what i’m using right now, hows the send features? how do you send with this?
To be honest I didn't even try but their free service is so smooth I'm pretty sure it's super simple.
I migrated away from Google to Zoho last year, partly because of cost, but mostly because of their other products and integrations. As your business grows, they have accounting software, CRM, team collaboration, etc., and it's all integrated and can be purchased ala carte.
If you're like me, I have about 5 domains that I run various endeavors through, and Zoho lets me have a single account for all of my domains without charging me more.
I use AWS SES.
It is usually used for sending, but it can also be used for receiving.
The advantage is that you can have as many addresses as I want for no additional cost.
The disadvantage is that there's no UI for reading the emails, so you would have to build a custom one for yourself.
I’ve used MXRoute for JustToSay Cards and have had a good experience with it. A bit technical to set up but it provides unlimited domains and email addresses, a good amount of storage and if you’re mail lost isn’t too big you can use it for your outbound marketing email.
I forward all emails from the business website to my personal email and handle them from there. It works well so far.
How is <20$/Month for Google Workspace (Drive, Mail, Calendar, etc.) more than your entire infrastructure?
My business email is a super critical part of my infrastructure. I dare not to be a cheapskate with this.
