Email - Godady Inbound security

I'm using godaddy email forwarding so that I can use a professional looking address like peter@mydomain.com. I can set it up in gmail and SMTP2Go. After looking at several tutorials they all omit the fact that inbound emails are insecure. I'm wondering if there is a service/product that people use for this email setup? I guess if not, then paying for cpanel email in godaddy is the way to go.
