Email is a pain! What would you change about it?

Spam, and not being able to easily unsubscribe.
That is right. People are not able to process their personal and business email due to the high volume of incoming newsletters from blog authors and companies. So I have decided to separate newsletters from inbox into a mobile app. Subscribing and unsubscribing requires 1 click. There is no app generated email from subdomain to subscribe like other options. By the way, I believe that email should remain for personal and business purposes. However, LinkedIn brought a new era which is safer to connect with any business person. Email brings the chaotic problems with itself spam/scam/phishing/gdpr etc. It's hard to build a better email experience. So I've focused on newsletters and saved them from inbox.
We are tacking that! How would you like that unsubscribe feature to be?
I have no idea. I just use the tiny unsubscribe link a the bottom of emails... if they're there.
Have you tried to look into services like Leave Me Alone or unroll.me?

I'm actually trying to build a service that moves us away from email, but keeps the same messaging (since email content is just html).
The threading for email (Gmail, for example) kills me. I find myself scrolling all over the place trying to reply, especially when multiple people are involved.
I also would love if it were much easier to unsubscribe, without having to rely on a third-party service. I am big on privacy for things like email, so those tools turn me off completely.
