Looking for email service recommendations for newsletters. I already know about MailChimp. any other free ones for a list less than 5000.

You could check out EmailOctopus. It's free for subscriber lists up to 2,500 so perhaps not exactly what you're looking for but at $20/month for a list of 5,000 it's good value and cheaper than most other ESPs.

Sendinblue don't limit contact lists at all, they limit daily emails sent instead (https://www.sendinblue.com/pricing/). Can be useful for some cases.

They made me jump through hoops to sign up. Then refused me as customer unless I bring an existing list. WTF?!
I'm using https://mailjet.com since a few months for free and it's quite good. I have never used any other service of that kind before so I can't make comparison. It's not perfect but manageable.
Thank you ju2pom. Looks like mailjet has a limit of 200 emails per day for the free tier.

Mailerlite is amazing. Using it weekly. They do have a free version with all the features but do not know the subscriber limit.
