Emotional Barriers to Indie Hacking?

https://gratefulplace.com

What emotional barriers have encountered on your Indie Hacker journey, and how have you engaged with them? I think that most if not all of us must struggle with the emotional highs and lows, and I'd love to hear others' strategies for overcoming the lows and continuing on :)

I'm wondering because I recently released Grateful Place (a positive community for cultivating compassion and gratitude) and found myself running into emotions that were very difficult, but familiar. Truthfully, I felt nearly paralyzed for a couple days.

After spending some time with the emotions, I had the insight that they had their origins in repeated past experiences where I would publicly accomplish something, take a huge risk, or otherwise try to move toward becoming the person I want to be, only to be met with public, extreme, painful backlash from people in my life.

This instilled the false belief that any attempts to accomplish something would result in some kind of extreme negative repercussion. I'm now challenging this belief with the belief that I can love those people enough to forgive them for reacting as they did, and to appreciate my own efforts to take risks and help other people.

So - sharing as much as you feel comfortable with - indie hacking involves moving beyond your comfort zone into emotionally uncomfortable territory. How do you manage that?
