Engineer looking for ideas, partner?
I've been lurking here several years. Off and on I've tinkered with a few different product ideas. Two of my ideas have been well validated by being executed by several competitors before I could build them.
Long story short, I'm ready to try again and I'm thinking maybe it would be cool to partner up with somebody. I'm a engineer with frontend / backend / devops / infrastructure / architecture experience, I can build and deploy 100% of a product but social media, marketing, customer facing aspects are really difficult for me.

For ideas, what interests and industries do you LOVE that you would want to build a product in?
I'm in cloud engineering and I love automation.
I wanted to build a platform-as-a-service for video courses / education. The specific idea I had didn't exist when I conceived it but it's a fairly complex software product to build and I couldn't execute on my own quickly enough; there are now several products like this.
I wasn't going to build it but I'm reconsidering. Competition is a form of validation, maybe there's still a niche there to tease out.

I'm a pretty good listener. If you want to chat, I can listen to your ideas, ask questions, and see if there are particular angles you can try to approach.
For automation, I'm thinking too. Who do you love automating things for?
That might help identify where to start. If it's the end-user, I think of zapier. If it's the developer, I think of twilio.
My education ideas have been oriented around content creators.
In the area of automation, I'm focused more on developers.
I've built automation that has saved companies many thousands of dollars. I built a process over the last two weeks that almost paid for my entire salary for the year at my company. I know there's a lot of value there but I have no idea how to package it up for a customer; often the needs requiring this type of work are very specific to the company and what kinds of infrastructure resources they're using. The process I just finished automating enumerates and deletes unused AWS resources.
