Entrepreneurs Finding Success With Less

Business is changing dramatically now that the Internet has become a major vehicle for obtaining new clients. This is a great time to be an entrepreneur. Small businesses can finally compete with larger companies now that the playing field has been leveled via the Internet’s reach. In the past, most entrepreneurs were forced to make peace with the realities of economies of scale and limited funds as they competed against corporate giants, settling for a tiny piece of the pie.

Social media and blogging sites offer entrepreneurs the ability to market what they sell for a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing campaigns typical of recent years. The modern consumer does research online before buying. They check reviews and follow bloggers that they relate to personally. Instead of spending considerable cash on TV or radio advertising, smart entrepreneurs are turning to blogs to reach prospective customers. I am taking advantage of the shift in business conditions myself. While the economy is depressed, the conditions are ripe for all those wannabe entrepreneurs with an idea. Conditions are perfect to finally follow your dream as a way to solve some of society’s problems and invent your perfect job, transforming it into a business.

While following a dream and creating a business is challenging, at least you have the opportunity to make an impact and test all the great ideas you have never been able to test in corporate America. It is amazing how fast we jump out of bed in the morning when we are the master of our destiny. The only requirement is that are confident and believe in your dream.

The good news is that if you can identify and market to your prospective clients over the Internet, you can virtually start a business for less than you spend on a fabulous vacation. If you are passionate about what you do and have a solid plan for execution, then you only need customers. The Internet is your window to the customer world. You don’t even have to confine your business to the U.S. But it is a good place to start. The best thing about a blog is that you can compete with huge companies for a specific target market. Blogs are often extremely targeted markets and relatively inexpensive advertising vehicles,. A blog is a great way to attract customers for a couple of reasons. For one, Google loves blogs and rates them higher than traditional websites if they are updated regularly. A good blog posts at least three times a week.

Another reason to start a blog is to target a group of people likely to become customers. Because of the availability of the Internet and new technology that can obtain immediate feedback about audience response, an entrepreneur is provided with immediate feedback. These tools allow a marketing plan to be adjusted quickly and inexpensively to adjust to the marketplace.

As bad as this recession seems, business opportunities abound for the creative at heart. Large companies take a lot longer to respond to change. A smart entrepreneur can grab market share while giant companies have too many meetings and too many arguments about what to do to move forward in the new economy.
