You can try odoo v13 community edition which is fully free but you have to learn that first. I don't say it's easy to start but definitely really a good one.

I'm also working on a SRP (Startup Resource Planner) which is an affordable way to scale your business! Odoo is okay but you can only do so much for free, then they charge you by modules that you need.

Open source version of Odoo could be good
Roll your own with Odoo or nexterp.
We are actually building an ERP product (currently only Accounting/Financials and Inventory). It the same capabilities as Netsuite and large vendors in terms of features but focused at SMB market. It might be a while though until it's ready for onboarding users.
Did you look at quickbooks, freshbooks, sage?
