Oh wow! Thanks for noticing this, I had totally missed it.
This means that a lot of US-based providers are no longer GDPR compliant. So for example, if you are using a service that depends on the EU-US Privacy shield for their GDPR compliance (as opposed to storing data within the EU), that makes you no longer GDPR compliant.
As a practical example, let's take two popular email marketing services -

Thanks for explaining. But if look into bigger picture this will become really complex if every country try to have their separate privacy policy instead of uniform policy.
Also does Mailchimp have has their own server or hosted on AWS or GCloud? If they rent then they definitely manage well with little changes.
This is already happening! Russia is very difficult for foreign companies for this very reason. Spotify only just managed to get in, after so long.
It is up to the countries to prioritize.
Practically speaking, for small companies based outside any country's jurisdiction, it is really impractical to actually prosecute or penalize based on these laws.
