As I prepare for the launch of my new SaaS solution, I'm actively seeking feedback on an onboarding strategy I've been contemplating. Your insights will be critical in ensuring my approach resonates well with potential users and aligns with industry expectations.
The platform I'm working on allows users to upload documents and engage in AI-driven conversations about their content. I've aimed for the initial interaction to be seamless: users can start their conversation as guests without any immediate sign-up obligations.
However, once they're ready to send their second message to the AI, I require an email address to proceed. This step is in place to enable users to save and review their discussions.
Here's where I'd appreciate your perspective the most: After collecting the email, I've set up the system to automatically create a user account associated with that email. Users then receive an email with a generated password, providing them access to this account for future interactions or to revisit prior ones. I haven't made it explicitly clear during the email collection phase that an account is being auto-generated.
I'm eager to understand:
Your thoughts on this approach, especially the account creation after the second message.
Whether the absence of explicit communication about account creation might be perceived as problematic or perhaps innovative.
Your feedback will be instrumental in shaping the final form of my platform, ensuring it's user-friendly and transparent.
Thank you in advance for your valuable insights.
