Hi friends,
I have been building a file storage solution for almost a year now. Ever since the beginning, I was leaning on AWS to host my application. Recently I replied to this thread saying that I am planning to move to AWS, but I compared the prices today with some others and I feel like am having second thoughts now.
My initial plan was to host files on AWS S3 because I am very familiar with AWS technologies, and object storage pricing of all major cloud providers are more or less the same. Moreover, hosting on S3 gives an added sense of confidence to probable clients that their data will most likely never be lost, and will be encrypted at rest etc.
But instead of S3, if I chose DigitalOcean Spaces (which at this point of time I have no idea how reliable it is) and then save an extra copy of data at BackBlaze B2, my rough calculation suggests that it saves me a vast amount of money compared to S3 (S3 bandwidth pricing is ridiculously high). Now, I am looking for advice on the following:
Thank you!
This is an old post, but I'm curious to know which provider did you picked.
