Almost 2 years ago, Valentin Vauchelles and Thomas Vivien came to me with an idea: build a web application for writers and publishers to connect. 💡
They were not technical founders, but they had a vision.
As a product and engineering advisor, my first, and ever repeating, advice was always to keep it simple and wait for customers to tell them what is needed and what is not. 💬
So, this is how I designed it. Writers could post their manuscript, and publishers could read an extract or the full book if they were deeply interested in promoting it.
The app was designed and built as a #mvp in 2 months. 🏃♂️
We then started iterating, feedback after feedback to make sure the writers and the publishers needs were truly served.
We added blockchain certification to protect author's rights 🛡, a workflow for them to follow in the long and difficult journey as a writer 🧗♀️ and a wonderful profile to show their achievements to the world 🏞.
Publishers are now able to give feedback and contact authors directly ✉️, read hundreds of manuscripts faster than ever before 🤓 and create writing contests to discover the futur jewels of the french publishing market. 💎
