Everyone is building SaaS. I built the opposite. The outcome shocked me. Here's why.

OK so here's my situation, and I'm being completely honest about it.
Freelancers are bleeding money on SaaS. HoneyBook, Bonsai, all that stuff. We're talking $30-50 per month each just to send an invoice or write a proposal. It adds up to $100-200 a month for tools you open maybe twice a week.

Launched a few weeks back. 96 total views across both products. Zero sales.
I know 96 views is too small a sample to panic about conversion. That's not what's bothering me. What's bothering me is that I have no audience anywhere to even get those numbers up. Reddit won't let new accounts post links so that's blocked. My X account has 7 followers and I joined last month. Instagram has 2 followers. Basically starting from absolute zero on every channel simultaneously.
So I'm genuinely asking — when you had no audience at all, what actually got you your first sale? Not theory, not what you read somewhere. What actually worked for you specifically.
And second question — does "offline-first, one-time payment" even resonate as a value proposition for freelancers, or am I solving a problem nobody actually loses sleep over?
