Exactly how I built & launched a Mac app and reached $3,000 revenue

How I launched a Mac app and reached $3,000 revenue in 2 weeks

👋Heya Indies!

The last time I posted here, my app Thought Train had just hit Product of the Day on Product Hunt, and a feature on Lifehacker.com.

To my surprise, it was a success, and I wrote about how excited I was about the launch.

Well, a month later I finally gathered my thoughts enough to detail the exact methods I used to plan, design, build and launch the app.

🥇 Let me know what your thoughts are, I'd really like to know what you use to define the success of your products, is it monetary, emotive, ego?

Also, what methods would you use to keep traffic on an app? Has anyone here gotten Adwords to work for you?

Great post Marc and really interesting to see you wait and understand the market before pushing the marketing / publishing on PH.

Nice Stuff! About to write here about my first MacApp hitting the App Store soon. Nothing as sophisticated as yours tho :-)

Gregg that's exciting, would love to read about the challenges related to launching on the app store (vs. as an indie like I did)

Sure, I have just pushed the app to the Mac AppStore. I have asked for feedback on the #landing-page-feedback . But this is my first time (tm), so I'm looking forwards to some tips.

My basic idea was to release something I already have - instead of developing an app in hope that someone will buy it when it is all feature complete. So it is a humble simple start point. Will see how this develops.
