I'm working on a product that targeting primarily social media users/influencers and others that have a fanbase. I'd like to validate my idea before diving hard into development so I thought I'd reach out to a bunch of Twitter/IG users and try to onboard them before I went any further. However, I'm not sure the best way to do this.
Do I try to just get them on a mailing list or do I try to get them to sign up? (presales doesn't apply here it's a percentage of revenue type thing) Should I be asking if they'd be interested in such a product and what feedback they'd have, or just sign them up as is? Do I pitch it like its coming soon and we're gathering interest or like we're rearing to go and they need to sign up now?
Any help or examples would be appreciated!
Side note - is there any limits on Twitter/IG on who/how many I should reach out to without getting blocked or something?
Something I have found consistently with onboarding influencers/content creators is start with the smallest individuals that your product can support. The amount of messages like yours larger influencers get is huge.
Find out what platform your message will be loudest, and be respectful and even a fan.
An example of this is someone might have 20k followers and decent engagement on instagram, but they also stream on twitch or something and get 100 concurrent views. In that case reaching out on twitch chat might be more impactful.
I have a similar situation. I need early user not just to validate it but to provide me a valuable feedback about what features can help them, I am still on the hunt of looking people, Any help?

So, if you are working on a product but didn't verify the idea with the target group yet, it's a good time to do it before you'll start building the product itself. The amount of money that can be saved from not creating something that no one cares about is really significant.
I would start with short (15-20 minutes) interviews with the audience you're targeting. - influencers, etc., to get an idea if you'll solve their real pain and bring value with your product.
The goal of the interview is not to sell your product, but to better understand the target group. Also, when you start meeting try to not pitch your solution at the beginning.
You can start the meeting this way:
"Thanks for meeting me. I am trying to find out if what I am doing makes sense. I do not want to suggest your answers in any way, so if that's ok for you, I will tell you what we are doing and answer all your questions at the end of the meeting..."
If your product will be really interesting the influencer you're speaking to will ask you for more information when it will be launched = good idea for the product.

The message you can send to book a meeting:
"Hey XYZ,
This is Justin. I am the founder of [company name]. I am writing to you because I'm creating a product for influencers. I wonder if I could talk to you for 20 minutes and ask you a few things about [your job/life of influencer, etc.]? I am especially interested in [what would you like to talk about].
[optional] If you give your consent, I will love to send you a Starbucks gift card."
