Hi IndieHackers!
I've been working on an iOS digital planner with a friend, and we recently had the good idea to create a landing page to explain our product and connect with anyone interested in becoming an early adopter/tester.
The landing page is not quite live, as it still lives at its webflow address: https://getspacetime.webflow.io/
But it's functioning and ready for feedback - have at it!
I read this as SpaceTeam and got excited. :)
Hahah, that would be quite a product - "work remotely, even from outer space!"
The why doesn't have to be a yogababble like to make the world a better place but it needs to speak more about the user's benefits of what they can do with this product. Nobody cares about what chemical composition a rat killer solution is, they just buy it because it promises to kill rats which is their current pain-point.
Just my $0.02. Best wishes for the launch
This is very true! Right now we're focused entirely on the features of our product and NOT AT ALL on either it's advantages or benefits (in the parlance of SPIN Selling).
We intend to add GIFs soon - this is very important for a product like ours (we think some of the subtle UX touches we put into the product speak nicely for themselves - the Gifs can then do the feature selling and we can focus on the advantages and benefits).
Your comment is so timely - we have shared the app with a group of friends and so far, most of them have courtesy tested it and churned, but much to our delight, we have 1 DAU (that's not someone building the product)! While a data point of one can be dangerous, there is so much we can ask our one, precious user. We'll be back after we talk to our user and more people in general 📞⬅️
Hi pliao39,
Great job launching your first landing page. Simplicity is key, and in a world of small attention spans, your copy is great! One thought, maybe include a section highlighting why spacetime differs from other digital planners?

Ah, this is a great idea! We've been thinking a lot about how to distinguish ourselves, but haven't thought about putting that on our website. It might make a TON of sense to do that soon though.
Part of our difficulties is that we don't compete directly with a product that might come to mind. On one hand, we compete with Wunderlist, Things, Todoist, Any .do and to do list apps. On the other, we compete with Day One, Journey and other journaling products. And on the third hand (lol - I used a literary device that did not scale), we compete with Fantastical and a suite of great Calendar apps.
Needless to say, positioning is a challenge for us. Articulating how we're different is hard, in part because we personally only use a small subset of those competitors. We have some thoughts on this though and once we clarify our thinking, we'll try to put positioning somewhere on the website.
Appreciate the support, kind words and feedback!
Wow, this is pretty cool! Looking forward to seeing this grow!
