Hey Indie Hackers, ππΌ
We are building https://exploo.com.
I do not want to tell you more. If the landing page does not transport the value, we did a bad job.
Roast our landing page and tell us whatβs not working.
Adjectives such as "modern", "awesome", "simple", don't provide any real information and should be avoided.
A description that is a lot shorter can convey the same message in a more intriguing way:
I am not sure how you do it in a "better" way, so you could describe what you do different (e.g. visual, more organized, real-time, etc.).
Very cool! Thanks for taking the time, I really appreciate it.
I am still unsure about the wording, but making it more direct should be our goal. ππΌ
Being part of the community, I want to help fellow Indiehackers with whatever I've learnt so far. I am objectively mentioning the points that I would like you to improve and I wish you the best.
Points to consider:
AFT (Above the Fold) section of the landing page is the part immediately visible when we open a website. Your messaging is a bit weak and you may consider rewriting it with something actionable that the user may do. For instance, the title "Video Sharing platform for your team" gives us a better idea of what the product does.
Waitlist is single word and when you use a CTA, always have one button there. Consider removing Contact Us from there.
The 4 bullet points which I presume are the features should be in the BTF (Below the Fold) area with description.
The BTF area looks decent to me, just one thing to consider is to remove some CTAs. I see a lot of them.
Happy to help!
Thanks for this great feedback. Very actionable! ππΌπ
Do you have any feedback for our landing page? sociomata.com
Totally missed that earlier somehow. Here is some feedback.
The landing page seems to be a bit empty. Why donβt you put the content of Features directly on the main page?
I would also check the spelling. For example: Prepare a content pipeline with drafts.
I am not the main target group. I am looking to create a Twitter account soon. Maybe I will be a user of auch services in the future but not now.
Thank you for the feedback. I will try to put in more content on the landing page but will have to keep in mind that On Page SEO is not affected negatively.
Sure, do connect with me when you want to grow your Twitter audience.
love it sir
I think the site looks good, the message is clear enough but the part which i think 'may' be a bottleneck is that it relies on you recording the videos using another platform and then uploading to Exploo.
I can see the value in this for corporates and as well as uploading videos they've made in recordings/meetings, the real value would be a portal to create video training etc. For that you would have to have a module to do inbuilt recording - like Loom (they have an API now in case you want to bridge it all) or Berrycast. Complex to build but there are a lot of third party tools that do this for you.
I think that would bridge your product and really give it a value proposition.
We also thought about doing this and building a simple recording tool that uploads videos directly to Exploo.
We do not want to use some Loom API as we want to be independent from specific services so that our customers use Exploo no matter which tools they have (MS Teams, Zoom, etc).
Thanks for the feedback! ππΌ
How's mine: https://vapestersmokeshop.ca/ ?
If I were an IT or CTO I'd probably leave without scrolling;
Make onboarding an efficient and smooth experience
Great, I need to create another new account for every new employee and track them.
Make your documentation visual and human
Great, I need to transform everything into video format.
Give everyone you work with a more productive way to stay in sync
Do I suppose to do something to keep them in sync or exploo will handle it, unclear.
Bring your team members closer together through videos
What, wait, was I here for this?
---
I don't have much experience on working in teams so keep that in mind.
Why would I use exploo while I can do it with youtube (private videos, playlists)
" The single place to manage your company videos " again wherever I pick (youtube, vimeo, ftp directory) would be a single place to manage. First value it offers doesn't sound solid enough.
"When documentation is inaccessible, itβs unusable." Well when videos are inaccessible it's the same. Also there is "trapping in a tool" while exploo is a 3rd party tool, potentially trap all those videos.
I'm going nit-picky but when someone refers to studies I'd like to see those studies. And the numbers didn't make sense to me. Let's say we had a meeting and took 50 lines of notes, 2 minutes of video can't be 60000x faster to process. What is higher engagement, like is this studies done for twitch streaming?
After seeing this stats part, scrolled back to the top and "Make onboarding an efficient and smooth experience" sounded like you are trying hard. Both are your claims anyway, so just keep the one, it's either efficient or is a smooth experience.
Hi Rusted, ππΌ
Thanks for taking the time and for all your feedback. Really appreciated. ππΌ
Is this really a problem? I never saw a person having problems creating accounts if the service is useful. If it is not useful, that's another question.
Interesting! I did not think this could have been interpreted in this way. Definitely, something to either rephrase or take out.
Yes, unclear. We wanted to focus on the outcome and not the solution (Notifications, etc.) but this might lead to questions.
Your feedback shows to me that we are basically selling to many vague outcomes. Instead, maybe I should focus on less and more clear points, e. g.
What do you think?
There are so many downsides to using youtube for company teams. I wanted to create some kind of "Alternative to Youtube" page, but maybe this should be right on the front page.
From an IT person perspective, yes. Even if you provide a forget password section, people would expect IT dept. to resolve the issue when they forget their password. People potentially use their internal passwords on 3rd party tools which can cause security breaches. No matter how secure my internal systems are, if you get hacked I'd be in trouble. When someone leaves the company, I needed to cut their access to any internal resource, right?
List goes on, these just come to my head right now, just to see through all the cons. Thus I can easily convince myself if I need a solution like yours building it internally might be less painful.
Question is do I have video content in my company? If I do, like if I were in a search for a solution to manage our videos. My first concern would be routing and separation, my boss probably wouldn't want the development team to access financial meeting notes (in this case videos).
I think you should list those downsides for convenience. I'm not convinced just by you saying it. TBF it can potentially be used for marketing as in open-startup movement. People sharing their MRRs, why not share development meetings.
"Alternative to Youtube" is a bit bold and vague I believe. But if you get this feedback few more times then why not. :)
