When I was looking for a RevenueCat client, I tried many of them. I even purchased the lifetime version of one, but it lacked one specific feature I needed. There was another free app that had that feature, so I ended up using both of these apps along with the official website.
However, later on, I came across another app on someone else’s tweet. This app had the features of the two previous apps and also had some additional functionalities that I needed from the official website. The overall experience was excellent, so without hesitation, I subscribed to it.
What I want to say is that many developers create an MVP version of their software, iterate a few times, and then give up when they see poor data.
They move on to search for other ideas and create different products. But from a user’s perspective, it may not be that your idea is too niche; it’s more likely that your product is not good enough.
Many people may not even know about RevenueCat, and those who do should realize that, compared to other common software products, a RevenueCat client is relatively niche. As long as it’s done well, it won’t hinder developers from earning money.
So why don’t we persist and make our products even better? If you confidently claim that your product is among the top three in its category but still can’t make money, then maybe it’s time to give up.
Before giving up, perhaps you can put in some more effort to make it even more user-friendly for your users.
