This topic keeps bothering me.
Should I invest all my energy, time, and money into fast explosive growth with one-time deals, advertisements, and outreach? or go slow and steady with the organic way?
I see some of my competitors take the former route and, they seem to have gained a lot of customers pretty quickly - most of them through one-time deals though. It brings a lot of visibility and provides a decent jump start to the business I suppose.
On the other hand, a lot of top companies have grown slowly over the years before hitting exponential growth along the way. Some recommend it as the right way of building a healthy business.
There are also peripheral things like :
So, I am interested to know your take on this.
For my Saas Blanq I have adopted the slower approach since it does not overwhelm me with tasks and keeps the goals pretty reasonable.
You can't do one or the other. You must do both. Set time on your calendar and segment your efforts one week outreach, one week organic. Don't forget the third " viral". Our product had a Viral hidden, all we had to do was find it. And those efforts required a data scientist.
Interesting that you talked about Viral strategy. Growth hacks have been used often as a multiplier by successful companies.
Great to hear it worked out for you!
