Extension re-reviewed and approved!

In a previous post I shared that Google had rejected my extension application due to a "yellow magnesium" issue. I'm happy to share it's now been approved.

As I've made my tweets auto-delete, I'll post here what steps I took to get it approved:

  1. I went through the code and made sure everything works as expected. They stated that the app didn't do what it promised. I was fairly certain it did, so I re-tested everything, and looked over the code again. Everything worked as expected! Strange 🤔

  2. I then sibmitted a re-review request. But here I did a few things:
    a. I explained that I had re-tested everything and it worked as expected.
    b. I stated in bullet points what the extension does
    c. I then screen recorded myself using the app in a 1 min video which I uploaded to YouTube for their convenience.
    d. I explicitly stated that the video demonstrates ALL the points which I had mentioned above and which are stated in the app description.
    e. I wished them well and sent off the email.

I got response that they had blocked the extension in error about 12-18 hours later, and that I should re-submit the extension. So here's to hoping it goes through this time.

So far the extension review process has taken about three weeks, so be patient people!

If you have any questions or you'd like to follow the progress of my temporary disposable email extension then please feel free to follow me on my Twitter.

Thanks for sharing and glad you got it approved. Creating a video explaining it and showing that it worked was a great idea!

Thanks! Yeah, I had submitted the extension twice and they kept rejecting it even though it worked as expected. I'm hoping further submissions aren't as complicated but we'll have to see about that!
