FAB in a web app

Hi All,
I am not very good at designing my software. I have been trying different ways of showing a bunch of actions on my web app. It does not follow material design throughout, but I really like the simplicity and placement of Floating Action Buttons.
Wanted to know from design experts what are the pros and cons of FAB in a non-mobile scenario. Does it affect visibility/usability of all the functionalities? Does it inhibit discoverability of those actions because the screen is huge as compared to this small button at bottom?
What are some other ways to provide 2-3 quick useful actions?
