Fastest way to build a community website?

Hi Everyone, I am a big fan of this community. Like many, I frequent visit sites like producthunt and check out indiehacker podcasts, and run into solutions that I like to catalogue in my mind. Sometimes I write them down, but I forget to write the website down.

This is one of those moments.

Do yal, know good, affordable // ideally free solutions to quickly build a good, fast-loading, community website

I found Peerboard, Circle.so, Tribe.so, are there any other recommendations? Or recommendations from the list?

I am pretty decent at react and flask / django as well, but I don't want writing the code for this to turn into the project instead of growing the community

Forem and Discourse are another ones worth looking at.

Though be careful, getting people to join and do something is the hardest part. Personally I would put this off as long as possible in favour of building up some kind of audience/fan base and trust.

I was looking for a community solution for my project this week as well and was amazed to notice how all modern solutions (circle / habitat / tribe) are missing my use case. I want to integrate a community into my product without starting with a ~$249 subscription. They all should give SSO for free because this is the best way to hook (and lock-in). I need it to blend into my project and SSO is the only way to do it.

    Or isn't it?

I don't know fully about others but Circle offers SSO as I know it.

Simply ask their team that SSO is core to your work and they'll be happy to support you with it.

Thank you @Dinakar for your reply!

After signing up to these services, I tried to enable the SSO feature in the settings and there was a big message saying I need to pay $249 to enable it. I couldn't see a way for me to talk to the founders.

What I mentioned is that they need to give it for FREE and actually require people to do it in the on-boarding (walkthrough) because only this way they can ensure lock-in.

Just my 2c of creating a real community integrated into a product.

I used Wix Editor X for the landing page (join.coulf.com).
    For the community, it's Circle.so (community.coulf.com)

I wrote a whole post about my findings here on IH if you wanna check - link
