Fastest Way To Quit My Job?

Hello indie hacker community! This is my first post. And I need your guidance!

My goal is to be financially able to quit my 9-5 as soon as possible because I want to focus on building my own business full-time, plus I hate my job and I'm in a highly underqualified minimum wage position that is not what I am worth. It's an instructors assistant for software engineering. I much rather be doing actual software engineering / development.

I have been in New York City for about two years and I have been having trouble getting any development jobs, I've been stuck in my current job at minimum wage for about one year. I live paycheck to paycheck and I have a deal where I pay a guy $532 every two weeks to live in a very small private room in his house. I also have no savings.

I have great skills and qualifications, I have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, I have past iOS mobile development experience, but ever since my employment gap in the industry 2017 - now, I've never was able to get a development job again. In NYC I went through a web development bootcamp using HTML, CSS, Javascript , React JS and Java. I was top in my class, however I only got hired as an IA for the same organization I passed the bootcamp in.

I completed the bootcamp during the start of the pandemic, so it was mostly crickets when trying to get Web dev jobs in NYC. And the ones that did respond I could not get past their technical interviews. I'm frustrated with corporate America and I really want to be my own boss but I'm trying to figure out how to break out of 9-5 dependence as soon as possible and be able to work on my own business.

I do also tutor a student in Javascript for about 4 hours a week for $37 hourly in which I have a 5 star rating, but it isn't enough to achieve financial independence yet. But I don't want to really do tutoring full-time, and maybe not even content creation full-time which I do have a new teaching youtube channel with 14 subscribers. My true passion is actually coding and building things.

During my employment gap, I did web development work for a ministry for which I learned how to setup servers and build wordpress sites. I am no longer with that ministry but I currently have my own server on Google cloud platform with my own website.

I know how to host and make new websites in either React JS or Wordpress on my own server. I know front end and back end and I know I could pull off making whole websites and webapps and mobile apps with databases from scratch completely on my own.

I'm thinking in order to quit my job I can possibly do web freelancing work such as hosting and making websites or finding funding from somewhere until I can execute my main plan of building Saas products, like woocommerce plugins or something. My interests are in digital marketing, affiliate marketing, ecommerce and privacy protection software.

Well anyway, I wanted to reach out to the community and ask if there were any software developers in a similar situation like me and what is the fastest way I can make enough to quit my job and even surpass my job's minimum wage income whether it be starting off freelancing while I build my software ideas or quickly getting small software projects off the ground to fund me or finding individuals or organizations willing to give me a grant or something or if there is someone in need of freelance work to help me start my digital nomad journey?
