Favicon/social assets if I've no design skill?
I'm working on a site that's put together using very minimal styles and the "logo" is currently a free SVG from FontAwesome.
As someone with very limited design skills, I'm happy enough with this for now, but I want to make a favicon and a decent social media preview image or two.
Do you know of any good online tools to make some, for someone with no design skill like me?
Am I being unrealistic and should persist with proper tools and make something?

Canva's good, thats how I made mine anyhow, canva > background remover > png to svg tool and 512 x 512 in canva for the fav hope it helps

Do you already have a logo?
I don't. I'm using an icon from font awesome right now but happy to swap that out or use it as the basis of something. You can see it at https://stackselect.tech
Don’t skimp on your logo. Get one from logo tournament or 99 designs and make sure it has 3 colors.
From there, it’s easy to get your fav icon, invoice logo, email logos etc.
Yeah, I'll look into getting a proper one soon. I don't have much of a budget but I don't want to do a speculative design contest either.
If a designer does something for me, I want them to get paid!
Well I find it a very fast way to get a high-quality logo.
I figure designers don't have to use those platforms. I'm not adverse to using them and the design quality is pretty good.

I actually found their tool slow and frustrating, but at least it helped me create a logo! I created the favicon myself using GIMP by cropping/resizing the SVG they gave me. You can see it at https://readme.money
