Favorite Transactional Email Services!?
What Transactional Email Services are you guys currently using? How is the experience going? What are the favorites?
Personally I'm struggling in finding a cheap and reliable service... Seems that nothing is cheaper than Amazon...

Hum... Why Postmark? Any good reason?
Cheaper than SES? I haven't found one - but I find SES a pain to to use. With sendy it might be OK. But I am not eager to host a PHP application.
I wanted to use mailgun but they don't even have support for subscription forms and I didn't want to waste my time writing a backend for that.
I am currently trying to evaluate sender.net. The interface is simple, great configuration options and they have a pre-paid option that allows for a pay for what you use. Unfortunately their technical support was not particular convincing over Xmas. We'll see how this works out.
We use https://mailgun.com for Howuku email transactions. It's free and cheap, and very easy to use as well.
We're using SES because you only pay for what you use. Most transactional e-mail providers now seem to have a package kind of deal which usually ends up more expensive. Sparkpost used to be cheaper but less reliability in my experience.
Sparkpost /used/ to be free, but they did away with that entirely. Never had any issues with deliverability, but did run into issues with the API doing dark from time to time.
Moving to SES this year after a successful move from Mailchimp to Email Octopus for marketing / newsletters.
MailGun is easy to use and is reliable. I never have to login to their dashboard because everything just works. Transactional email should have 3 qualities:
I'm not sure why you are having trouble. What has been your biggest struggle?
Mostly the pricing structure... most services become so expensive so quickly... For small projects sure they are cheap but something bigger can become a problem...
If you are growing bigger than the free plans for transactional email services shouldn't be a problem. SendGrid and MailGun are around $15/month up to about 50,000 emails.

We use Mandrill. Support isn't great and they only store 30 days of mails. We've been thinking about moving for a while and hopefully will get to it this year. Probably will go with postmark.
SendGrid. Depending on how many emails you need to send you may be able to use if for free forever.
"Forever" tends to come too sooner than you'd like :P
I tried Mailgun but it doesn't work for me. I'm with Postmark right now. So far so good.
Yeah postmark is probably the best one.
