How do you validate your customers bank accounts?
The company I work at is about to integrate with Plaid to do this. Currently our clients have to give us their account and routing numbers, but we don't have any way to validate if those numbers match a real account - we just try to bill them via Stripe, and sometimes get an error back when the account doesn't exist.
Thanks Feldspar. My company ask customers to do the 'penny test', i.e. send a small amount to our bank account with a unique reference, and then we verify the details. I wonder if there is a better way? Is your company using Plaid internationally or only within the US?
We're not yet using it, but when we do, it'll only be with US, since that's where all our clients are.
You can only validate routing number without bank customer creds.
