Feature based pricing, seat based pricing, flat rate pricing, ... What pricing model do you use and why?

On the latest episode of the podcast there was a great discussion about pricing models.

I have been toying around with different pricing model approaches for my latest SaaS product recently. So I am curious, what pricing model do you use and why did you pick it?

I actually have two different pricing models (for two sub-products). One product is an event app and the other is event registration software.

For the event app, the pricing model is a yearly subscription. The yearly subscription allows for unlimited events per organization and there is no monthly plan. There are also two tiers: a shared app and branded app.

The event registration pricing model is a percentage plus a small fixed fee per attendee (e.g. 1.5% + $0.99/attendee). There are three tiers on the percentage aspect of the fee depending on if you are subscribed to the event app or not.

You can check out the pricing here: https://event1.io/pricing

For the event app have you had any push back from people for not having a monthly plan?

Nope, none at all. They are more used to paying per event but a lot of customers in my target market have one large event and a couple smaller ones. It's not worth paying a large amount for those smaller events so the compromise is a yearly subscription with unlimited events. It's pretty non-standard in the industry but it seems to work well.
