Feature voting slack bot
In a startup it's hard to figure out what should you do next. Also the team opinion is important and they must feel appreciation for sharing their ideas about the product.
So my idea is a slack bot where you can add ideas and it will let you vote for the ideas with coins. And those coins are given to people once per day. (Maybe some people like the CTO will get more coins). And if a feature is on the top will have priority in development. And the other ones will remain in the list.
That's the concept. Do you feel that it is a real need? Would you find it useful in your team?
We've always used the built-in Slack polling system for this (if we had to make quick decisions).
One point of friction I can see is the "bridge" between voting for a feature and getting it into JIRA (or whatever tool you're using). Normally you'd immediately add the idea to the Backlog in your "single source of truth". Triaging and vetting ideas is almost always done in the project management system.
Another important point is that in a lot of companies and startups in particular customer support drives feature prioritization given that they are in constant contact with the users / customers. Almost all of the decision I witnessed / was a part of were made based on that feedback.
Our team is really small and we don't have a huge flow of ideas for something like this, but I'd imagine things would be different for larger teams.
