Hey everyone,
I'd like ask for a bit of your time to get some feedback about this idea I am working in. It's called SunnyBarrels and is a data-driven craft beer online shop. The idea is basically trying to directly match the best beers for our users based on their tastes. We want to offer to craft beers lovers the opportunity to easily discover new craft beers and flavours without wasting their time and money. After the consumers are choosing their beers we will proceed to deliver them at home.
We are aware of some issues regarding to distribution and packaging but we have some ideas to fix it.
Please play around, desktop, mobile. What you like, what you don't like, is this makes sense for you, new angles from this, what you would see somewhere else,...
Here's the site: https://www.sunnybarrels.com
Thanks in advanced for your opinions and feedback!!
I have a lot of experience in this space. You'll come across some pretty big barriers to entry.
-Beer is pretty expensive to ship. People aren't used to paying $10 for delivery.
-Shipping across state lines is illegal. Not saying you couldn't do it up to a certain point but if you ever grow big enough (let's say 500+ deliveries per month), you might start getting letters from various alcohol state commissions. Fedex/UPS might also terminate your account out of nowhere.
--Beer bottles break over the course of shipment. Because you technically can't send it via Fedex/UPS because it's illegal, there's no insurance on it and you are out the money.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
You are totally right on the fact that beer is breaking over the course of shipment. This is one of the logistics issues.
Regarding delivering, we are focussing on the EU market and as far as I know it is legal to deliver to most of EU countries if you are fulfilling the EU rule about labelling. There are certain countries like Poland where selling alcohol is forbidden by law so we will not be active on this markets.
Ah ok, I thought this was for the U.S. market. Laws are very different regarding interstate shipping of alcohol.
