Hey!
I recently launched www.firewards.com, a service that integrates a referral system into your newsletter.
Since the product needs some setup and an integration with your newsletter provider, I am wondering if the landing page is clear enough on how the process works and if I provide enough information. What do you guys think?
You have a demo link/video, I think you should make that more prominent.
I like the design though, seems pretty clear what it is about.
You have a few minor spelling/layout issues: https://app.pagewatch.dev/0e7b8e1a7562fd4f2acecc3d19d22517c03a0240/dashboard
Oh pagewatch is awesome! Didn't know about this tool. Thank you for your help!
Good point about the video, I was not promoting it that much because I think it still needs some work 😀
Hey @dennis_s
This is exciting! I'm wondering if it could work on Substack, keen to hear your ideas and see if my newsletter can benefit from your tool :)
Hey Felix! Thank you! Substack is tough because they don't have an API. I wrote about it here: https://www.firewards.com/kb/referral-program-for-substack
However I'll try to make it work somehow in the future through a different mechanism, will keep you posted!
Just another +1 here. And maybe they are even willing to work with you on this. It would be a win-win for both.
Nice! I have searched for a service like this in the past and glad you are creating a solution!
As a curious potential user I was hoping to to see screenshots of the whole journey... link in newsletter, what happens when someone clicks that link, the referring user what they see, do they need to log into anything (my preference would be they dont need a new login for anything) and then how rewards are tracked, and distributed etc.. I saw the video but i prefer screenshots so i can take my time and look at what peeks my interest the most without having to watch the whole thing.
Great work!
That totally makes sense, thanks for sharing!
I just added a new "How it works" page and explain the whole process including all the screenshots you described:
https://www.firewards.com/product/how-it-works
Hope this is more helpful for you and other potential users :)
Hi Dennis! Here is a quick feedback video for you:

Great work so far! 🔥
Could use it incredibly well for my newsletter about website investing: https://dealsflow.substack.com/
Hey Alex! So sorry for my late response!! Thank you so much for putting this together and your awesome feedback.
Working on simplifying the pricing page soon that was a great point.
I keep hearing Substack so I am definitely going to figure something out to make it work in the future. Will keep you posted! :)
Sounds great, Dennis. I will observe you closely! :)
Super weird that you have three benefits/features but the 3rd one is cut away by testimonials (cool testimonials btw)
Another weird thing, is you use no product screenshots but random illustrations ( are they from humaans?), Nothing wrong with illustrations but product screenshots are always better for tools like this.
What is the difference in functionality between newsletter and email list? Isn't one required for the other one to work (implicit)
And finally, how does your product work? And is it used to simply generate more subs? Any case studies you could email me if I leave you an email in a form? (Think about lead magnets)
Okay not bad tho! I usually post these analysis on my YouTube channel, going to bundle yours up in my processing queue of feedback!
Great feedback, thank you very much! (Illustrations are from undraw)
What do you mean by 3rd one is cut away by testimonials? That testimonials are misplaced in between the illustrations?
No difference in functionality actually between newsletter and email list. I was trying to use both words because not everybody uses the word newsletter for their email marketing. Some tools like ConvertKit and their users would call it an email list.
I have a couple screenshots on the other pages but I guess it makes sense to create a big overview of how the product and a referral system looks like on the landing page. Thanks for pointing this out!
Working on creating some case studies! So you are saying you would not put them on the website but rather send them out as a newsletter series? I guess I can do blog posts teasers and additionally email them.
Finding the right balance when writing your own landing page is the hardest thing to do, a lot of people ask - how can I write the perfect landing page? what's the structure I should follow? how do I know I am giving away the good stuff first?
I have a lot of ideas and little white-space to write them down but I will try to be brief:
When the eye reads a page it follows a special pattern, for us in the west it's a left to write pattern. A lot of people like to do the alternate pattern where you have text and image and then image and text.
When I load your page I see a little bit of that but then suddenly there's a testimonial column in the center of the page. Why?
Regarding the usage of words you should probably not use two synonyms to capture the same audience, but instead you should work on the benefit for that audience. Here's an example: I own a bike, but my bike does a weird noise when it breaks. I search for a fix, end up on a website (let's pretend its firebikes.com)
Now I read the H1 and it goes like: We fix all bikes issues in 2h or less.
"Great that's what I need" - my little brain thinks...
"but I only need a fix for my breaks"...
I scroll down and I read:
and then they have a list of problems they can help you with.
Ah-a my brain thinks, that's right, I want these fixed - those g'damned squeeky breaks! :angry-demon-face:
then there's a call to action next to it, "contact us and we'll give you a quote in 15min guarantee"
I click it, I fill a form, I explain the break is doing odd noises when I pull it and I press submit.
They hit me back with a quote and a link to their location on google maps...and also two more things:
My brain is like, wow these guys really care - they even tried to educate me to do it...problem is I dont have time to do this myself and I don't have the tools...I will just walk my bike to their shop and wait until they fix it at a near-by coffee store.
So, there we go, That's how I would think to build your website, hope this makes sense, if not...I am sorry - I hope this answers at least part of your question!
One of the most complete feedback I've seen this week on IH!
Awesome, thank you so much! Will try to incorporate all your feedback!
👍, glad it was effective at giving you some advice!
Hi @dennis_s, I am waiting for affiliate approval. An email is on the way.
Hey @dennis_s - congratulations on your launch. It looks like a great product.
Some feedback:
The first 2 lines essentially state the same thing. Instead, use your first line to show what value your users will get. For example:
"Get more newsletter subscribers"
or "Grow your newsletter super fast!"
or "Empower your newsletter readers to share your newsletter."
or "Get 10x more newsletter subscribers" if you have any customer stories to back up a number.
I like the integrations. My biggest concern was that it would take too long to integrate. You say it takes just "2 clicks" but that is in the smaller text and easy to miss. Instead, consider changing the large text to "Connect with your newsletter system in just 2 minutes."
@dennis_s, I used SplashPad to provide these suggestions. SplashPad is my website, and it helps you write about your product more effectively by suggesting language while you write. If these suggestions were helpful, then I think you'll like the site: https://getsplashpad.com.
Good luck, @dennis_s - definitely a cool product.
Thanks so much for your feedback. Used your lines "Grow your newsletter super fast" and "Connect with your newsletter system in just 2 minutes." on the homepage https://www.firewards.com now :)
The site is looking great. I'm glad the improvements were helpful.
We're working on something that I'm really excited about. Soon, SplashPad (https://getsplashpad.com) will have landing page word suggestions.
Keep up the great work, Dennis.
