Feedback on a blog page / writing articles
We wanted to move off third-party sites like Medium for a several reasons, the biggest being that we wanted more control over the layout.
Curious about two things:
- Any feedback on our blog page so far?
- Any tips for writing content and then publishing it quickly for those that also aren't used to writing? We tend to get stuck in our own heads and sit on a article for weeks instead of days

As a note, we're just about to launch the About page on our site and are in the midst of revamping the content on landing page (pivots, am i right?).
I think the photos you have are really cute! The color scheme is really aesthetically pleasing to me too.
As for the writing, I can totally hear what kind of tone you're going for, and my suggestion would be to let that come out as naturally as possible (don't overthink it, just write as much as you can) and then really hone it on the revision and editing so it sounds cleaner and conveys your message engagingly.

Our biggest issue is definitely the revision piece. There's two of us, so usually one person writes the majority of the article, the other will edit a bit, and then the two of us go back and forth over revisions. I think that's our trickiest bit - how do we stop revising and just let it be?

I think you can, instead of going back and forth, just set a time limit for the revisions. Even setting a time constraint for writing an article has really helped me write for thegoodstartup.com, and I find most writing is better when you set a time limit! It's so you have the extra pressure of getting as much editing as you can in just a short period of time, so you're working harder and more efficiently :)
I really like the flow and the site presentation is good. I'm 50/50 on the meme-style GIFs...imho, it detracts from the minimally elegant style of the site and site structure.

Yes, but it's just my opinion. As I was reading, it pulled my eyes away from the written content a bit, so it tended to break up the flow a little bit, instead of enhancing it.
gotcha! no thats good to know actually. we originally wrote these two articles for medium and were trying to tailor it a bit to their guidelines - its definitely something for us to keep in mind for future articles :)
