Hey Indie Hackers!
I'm launching Winston, a tool that helps you do more deep work. You can check it out here: trywinston.com.
I built it because deep work completely transformed my life. It helped me land a software engineering job and currently makes it possible for me to build side projects while holding down a full-time job. All of this from someone that was the world's most inefficient studier in college.
I want to give the IH community a 50% off discount (code: INDIEHACKER, available until Jan 31, 2021) because I think it will help you all build next year.
If you check it out, please let me know your feedback. I make almost all of my changes based on users' input.
Thanks!
As someone who struggles with the practice of deep work, Winston is interesting! Just a few pieces of feedback on your landing page from the perspective of a potential customer:
"Our users report a 20% increase in daily deep work after just one month." This should be higher up on the page. Hell, I would even test it as your main value proposition at the very top: "Get an Extra Hour of Deep Work Every Day" with the sub-header "Winston has helped creatives just like you increase their daily deep work by 20% after just one month."
You never tell me what the price of Winston is after the free trial or how long the trial is. This may cause friction in your sign-up process.
"Not for Everyone" - I think you may be trying to create the impression of creating an exclusive group that potential users want to join, but this could backfire and convince qualified people that they might not be a good fit for your product.
Best of luck!
Damn - this is incredible feedback. I'll digest and make the relevant changes. Thanks!
Since you're my target user, what do you think would make you convert? What have you struggled with in your deep work practice? What is blocking you from signing up now?
Glad you found it helpful! The reason I haven't signed up is because the projects I am working on right now is more conducive to short sprints as opposed to long sessions of deep work. In the past when I would have benefited more directly from deep work, I often had trouble setting up my objectives so that once I was in a flow state I could stay in it. I found myself "zooming in" on a task and then having to "zoom out" to line up the next objective. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense haha.
Sounds like a good premise.
What unique value do you provide compared to Toggl? (what I use right now)
