Feedback on landing page

Hello friends, I have created a tool for engineering managers/vp/executives that gives details of all the activities of development team in a single dashboard using data from github.
I am looking for your feedback on copy of the website in particular

  1. Is it clear from the website what is the product.
  2. Is it clear why it is useful?

anything else that i should incorporate? any suggestions on improving it or any general feedback is also welcome.

Please feel free to criticize as harshly as possible, it would help me in improving the site.

website: https://gitimprove.com/
PS: product is in beta so i cannot add customer testimonials right now.

    Hi pdyc,

    • Hero section has too much white-space, perhaps try adding an illustration or a video
    • 100vh on hero section seems like an overkill because it's missing background or scrolling indicator, see regeneration.enterprises for good example related to this
    • Image quality is not the best, this is probably done to save bandwidth but text looks pixelated
    • Missing padding between text and image in "PR's by type" section
    • Too much icon repetition (user, activity), perhaps this is intentional but it does not fit every context
    • In the "How to use" section some point description starts with uppercase while others do not
    • Footer is causing horizontal scroll on both firefox and chrome
    • Missing favicon
    • Scrolling to sections is too fast, perhaps try adding "scroll-behavior: smooth;"
    • You can try adding FAQ section for more explanations

It's clear what the product is and how it is useful but I think this can be improved with catchy tagline or video.
You can make pictures a bit more dynamic with scroll-triggered animations https://www.framer.com/docs/scroll-animations/#scroll-triggered-animations

Congrats on launching the beta and best of luck.

Hi, pdyc! I think the landing page it's well organized but it is static, therefore boring. Now, don't get me wrong. The product looks interesting for people that need to know how the devs are doing without understanding how to code or how to use GitHub. But if you could make the landing page more dynamic and have some great pictures it would help you convert! Nevertheless, good luck and if you make any changes I'm willing to give you another feedback if you want.

thanks for the feedback. Can you elaborate bit more, by dynamic you mean animations ? any site you have in mind which i can take a look and copy its style?
Also when you say pictures should i add more pictures of the product or pictures of people? sure please give all the feedback, i will consolidate and make changes in next version.

        • Yes, by dynamics I mean animation, some type of movement. Mmm I don't know how are you making your landing page but look at this page for examples: framer.com/motion
        • The pictures are for you to decide (product or people pictures) but choose ones with quality. You can search for a lot of them for free if you are a people type of ones and if you need to make for your product, you can try canva.
