Feedback on my website? Story-Based Portfolio for Professionals.

I'm creating a website that allows professionals like web developers, engineers, architects, ecc... To create a personal portfolio based on connected stories instead of a simple showcase of experiences and projects.

Take a look: https://www.my-portfolio.it/

The main goal of this project is to allow these people to narrate their journey in clear and complete articles.
In my perspective, professionals frequently engage in intricate projects demanding profound expertise across various facets of their field.

During these projects, professionals often discover interesting details that are crucial for success but are not easy to showcase in a typical portfolio. Allowing them to share multiple stories about the same project helps convey these details without losing clarity in the overall narrative.

An example is my profile, in which I also talked about this exact project (myportfolio).
You can read the stories I started to write here:

A little premise:
This project started as an academical experiment to help me understand better the microservices architecture in software development.
During the development of the project, I started thinking that it actually may be useful for real people. So I never really validated the idea, but I now have this sort of MVP that I'm currently using as my personal portfolio.

I'd love to hear some feedback about the overall idea and about the current look and usability of the website.
Thank you very much :)

Hi Roberto, the UI looks nice and appealing. Great work!

Hi Roberto! The website looks good. Personally I feel it needs real person faces and reduces some long text in order to be more friendly and easy to read. Anyway, great job there!

      Thanks @Germerlo!
I'll definitely keep that in mind in the restyling I'm doing ;)

Really cool concept. One thing on your landing page "For who is it?" Reads strangely. "Who is it for?" Is a more naturally sounding phrase

      Well, of course you're right!
Thanks for the feedback @NerdBucket ;)

Hey! I really like this project. I think it can provide with an standardized way to showcase work that doesn't rely that heavily on case studies. I have a couple of things I would improve:

    • Make the copy clearer. What is it? Why is it better?
    • Stay away from overused illustrations.
    • Grab the attention of the client right from the start.
    • Try a more modern layout.

I took the liberty to do a quick "roast" to the website. Let me know what you think!

(I am not allowed to post links yet... but you can see it in my twitter profile)

      Thanks for the feedback @bastiancreates
Your design is amazing. I'm pretty good as a developer, but I really don't have good taste when it comes to design :D
      Thanks, I appreciate your work!

It's great! But where is the video with music?) Maybe I or someone want to see how to use the application without registration.

    1. 1

      That's a great idea @Sergo!
Right now, if you try to register, you'll be redirected to a support page where I explain that the project is not quite ready yet. But still, I could add a video or try to show how the application will be for a registered user once finished.
      Thanks for the tip ;)
