Feedback on Producthunt demo video

Hey guys, I have been working on a demo video for my upcoming launch on producthunt. I have finally reached a point where I like the video. Looking for some feedback from you all.

    Gave it a shot.

I really like your logo and your app looks - clean and simple.

The video is way too long, I’ve got a bit bored after 1 minute. Maybe you could focus on 1 or 2 core features instead of giving a product tour? Also Steve avatar is a bit cheesy, turns it all a bit into a joke.

Sorry if it sounds negative, but that’s how my brain works, focusing on the problems 😜. Hope your launch goes well.

Wow. This is looks super cool. So much better. To be honest, I have no idea what would need fixing here. I would totally go with it. Looks great!

Thanks for your honest feedback on the first iteration. Trying to be creative I overdid the video, your comment helped me realise that.

I am very glad that you liked the new version. 😇

We will go with this for our first launch on producthunt the coming 11th January.

Will try to refine the messaging again based on the feedback from the wider audience.

Don’t might negative feedbacks. It’s how we improve things.

I was not sure which way the whole AI presentation will go, just thought maybe I should try and be more creative than just recording a loom video.

But I can see how it can be distracting.

    1. Video is too long in terms of what you're presenting. There is too much lead up time before you even show how it works.

    2. Text to speech + AI avatar will put off most people. Just naturally speak to the camera and present yourself. If you have a hard to understand accent then put in subtitles.

Good points. How long would you say should be an ideal video be?

      1. 2

You can probably cut yours to 2 mins.

Let me try to trim it as much as possible. Will come back to you soon for another round of feedback.

Keep it shorter. Skip the whole thing about Steve Jobs, i'm not really sure how you ended up with that. You want your audience to get the most out of it, look at other good promotion videos made by big companies etc.

I get the point, it's like the first time you write HTML and simple CSS and thinks it looks awesome, but it doesn't.

Kudos either way for putting it out here for feedback :) Sorry if i sound negative, but these things made me not watch the complete video, so i lost interest.

it's a really nice video. It seems to take a long time to get the message out. For Product Hunt, i would keep it shorter, and focus on the benefits.

First off, congrats on even getting to the point of launching on product hunt. I hope to get there some day 😜

    Some feedback on the video:
I felt it was way too long, I lost interest by the time you were actually starting the demo. I’d rather the video be too fast than too slow, I can pause and rewind if I’m interested.

I felt the music choice to be a bit distracting as it didn’t really fit the scenario of trying to hook me into your project. And I’ll agree with others that the api voice over was off putting to me.

Echoing what others said, I think there'd be a lot of benefit in cutting down the length of the video.

Like most of us, I live in a state of being constantly oversaturated with content -- I find myself always giving mental kudos to stuff that cuts straight to the point without extra fluff.
