Feedback please! New tool to help business partners divide the equity in a start up

http://www.sharedivisioncalculator.com

Please help me test my new product. It 's a data analysis software coupled with cognitive assessment to create a fair and equitable division of shares. It's free for everyone on IH, just go to www.sharedivisioncalculator.com and use the coupon code 'indie' and start the process.
Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

Hi, Benja. I really like the concept and love the bio page on your site. I can just picture you and your 12-year-old friend going door to door. Your story made me want to support you right away.

Some background so you know what kind of customer I am: I am currently in the process of founding my company with a cofounder and although we are talking about equity and such, we are getting momentum before we form a legal entity. This is my fourth company and first time partnering with this co-founder.

    The marketing

    • Looking through the site, I wasn't entirely sure if I was at the right stage to use your product. For example, am I in too much of an early stage? What if I was joining an existing company? Would that be too late?
    • I like that you are starting simple, but I saw on the contact page that you also offer startup coaching and such. At my stage, I would love it if you took this further and offered coaching on cofounder agreements and other additional services that are tangential but related. In other words, bring me into your ecosystem so you solve all my partnership-related pain points.

    The product

    • I'm not sure if you plan to stick with the PDF to Typeform model, but it would be nice to have a cleaner URL to follow so people can get to the test more easily. Even better...make me take that test on your actual site.
    • I would love it if you prepped me a bit more about what the test will entail. For example, how long will it take? Will I need my cofounder there? Can I start and then come back? Is there anything else I should prepare before starting?
    • Questions 21 onward (where you ask people to add 1 - 5 crowns or icons): To create clarity, I would just quantify the 5 crowns as being most important with 1 being least important.
    • Question 31 Time to profit: Not sure if it makes a difference, but we think we will be profitable in 3 - 6 months. The answer provided was 0 - 2 years and that feels like a huge gap for selection. Just thought I would note it in case it's significant.

I look forward to receiving the final response from you. If it's relevant, I'll provide more feedback then.

Hey Benja! Quick feedback on the marketing actually - you're throwing around "cognitive assessment" "data analysis software" but I don't actually know how those help. I'd focus on the problem you're trying to solve, and see what sort of language people use when describing it themselves.

Btw I've got a service where you can survey people and then interview them based on how they responded. If you're interested you can ask business owners to see how big of a problem this is for them and/or what they currently use! https://scoops.io/ Hope that helps!

Hi Chris, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!
Cognitive assessment and data analysis is exactly what what the software does but I see your point and will look into it : )
Will check out your software as well

I've been learning this the hard way from a marketing perspective - what it does != what people want to hear :) You can always test that with Scoops too, a lot of people use it for marketing purposes!
