Feedback - Redirect to app from homepage for logged in users?

Hey all - I'm wondering your thoughts on this UX. When a user is logged-in and visits your homepage, which of these is a better UX/business decision: (1) Show the homepage with a link to "Your Dashboard" or (2) Automatically redirect the user to the logged-in app? It seems most SaaS sites go with #1, but I can't think of a good use case for this as #2 feels like the better user experience.
