Feedback request: Find A Friend - video/meeting based platform to find new friends

With covid lockdown, it is kind of hard for me to find new friends based on common interests. I try using reddit and other websites but still had not much luck.

So I have put together FriendJar, where you can feel out some basic info about you and what about your new friends, and the system will create matches.
Based on signup up user input he/she might directly get matches or put into waiting list, when you invite more people you move ahead in line or system will move you based on other people who signed up. Even if you don't have matches you still can join the public live group video chats until you are waiting to be able match people directly.

Right now what I am looking is feedback for two parts of the site

  1. Landing Page/Home Page
  2. Questions asked during signup process
    a) Are they too many?
    b) Was there any question you think should be removed?
    x) Any question do you think should be added.

I want to be keep in casual, so not sure if should add people professions or not

    What's done well:

    1. The numbers are very honest. It builds trust in the product.
    2. Event section is a good addition. A visitor has a bigger chance of signing up if he/she sees something relevant to his/her interests.
    3. I like the name.

    What needs to be improved / tested:

    1. The images are all over the place. Most importantly, there are a lot of them and not one is relevant to the platform. The platform is about connection. Use real human faces in the images and be very picky about the images. The goal of the visual should be to enhance the copy. I would recommend going with the Colors on white design approach. Mostly, the screen is white background with colorful images and
    2. The layout is very confusing. Use a centered layout with white space on each side. Keep it as simple as possible for your visitor to consume the content.
    3. How FriendJar is different from other social media platforms, the value proposition is not clear.
    4. First and third testimonial look fake, if you want to appear more credible use real screenshots of profiles from the platform.
    5. Every social media platform has a primary color, Facebook (light-blue), twitter (blue) snapchat (yellow). Identify your brand color and use a color palette around it.
    6. CTA copy is not actionable. It's very generic. Play a little bit with people's emotions like Find new friends.
    7. The sign up process has a lot of questions. It took me almost 5 minutes. Make your sign up form really short. You can ask for additional info on the platform. It's a standard practice on other social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn.
