Hey builders, I’m Kate, co-founder of Migroot—a platform that helps people relocate smoothly. We have our first customers, but pricing has been tricky.
Here’s the situation:
🔹 We currently offer three plans:
$19.90/month – subscription for access to relocation tools
$1,190 one-time – full support with an immigration expert
$2,990 one-time – premium, hands-on relocation assistance
The problem?
💡 The $19.90/month plan seems too cheap—people don’t trust it because "immigration can’t possibly be that affordable."
💰 The higher-tier plans feel too expensive, especially since they require expert involvement and customers hesitate to pay upfront.
We're trying to find a better balance. Have you faced similar challenges? Any ideas on how to tweak pricing or positioning? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments or DMs
Hey Kate, Migroot sounds like a super valuable platform! 🚀 For pricing, you could consider offering a tiered freemium model to build trust—maybe offer a free trial or limited-time access to some tools before transitioning to the $19.90 plan. It might help show value before customers commit.
For the higher-tier plans, how about splitting the payment into installments or offering a ‘pay as you go’ model? This could reduce hesitation while still covering your costs. Also, framing it as an investment in peace of mind and emphasizing ROI (time saved, avoiding mistakes) could help with positioning.
Curious to hear how others have tackled this too!
Hi! Thanks for the great feedback.
We currently have a one-week trial, but maybe we haven’t communicated this information clearly enough?
In terms of pricing strategy, perhaps a combination of tiered pricing and value - added services could be considered. For the low - cost $19.90/month plan, add some limited - time free consultation rights with immigration experts, such as one 15 - minute online consultation per month, to enhance its sense of value and make users feel that they are getting more than they pay for, thus changing their distrust of the low price. For the high - cost plans, how about adopting an installment payment method? For example, divide the $2,990 fee into three installments, with a certain percentage paid upfront and the rest paid at key nodes of the service progress. Will this ease the pressure on customers to pay in one lump sum? In the service process of your platform, which link is most likely to make customers feel that the value does not match the price?
By the way, offering an installment plan instead of a subscription is a great idea! Thanks, I’ll try to implement it.

Just my 2 cents.
