I am Sandeep, from Kolkata, India and I am building https://remotefront.io
I am from a place where I am very fortunate enough to earn in dollars. My father used to earn around 10,000 INR (133 USD) a month. I have struggled my whole childhood with a lack of money. I studied in a government school and completed my engineering with a 100% scholarship.
I received my first computer in 2014 and I started to learn to code. I found it very interesting and I was spending 10+ hours learning to code and building stuff. In August 2016, I landed my first internship. Then in 2017, I started to earn via a programming job.
It was a Data Visualisation company and I was writing vanilla javascript to render some mathematically heavy charting solutions. I was paid 390 USD a month. It was good but not enough. By then I could understand that I am being paid a lot less but I had no choice.
In 2018 I found a FB group called Hackathon Hackers and back then I had a craze of building an Android Game and I end up building and publishing one Android Game in the play store. I was sharing my progress in building the game in that FB group. In 2018, I was making around 1000 USD a month.
In Nov 2018, I received a Facebook message request offering me a remote job. I was interviewed and I was given a small project to execute. I completed the project and submitted it in time. The guy hired me for the remote job and I was offered 3400 USD a month. I was so happy 😀 and my life changed after that.
Now I am making around 130K USD a year, from Kolkata India for a company based in Los Angeles, USA. All thanks to the remote job.
You might wonder why all these are important. A remote job has changed my life and it has changed my life for my family.
With the same mission, I started working on https://remotefront.io so it provides equal opportunity to everyone out there.
One thing I noticed with all other remote job boards is that they all are extremely poor in design, too colourful to browse, no way to subscribe for the correct remote jobs.
I want to change that. remotefront.io gathers remote jobs from 10+ sources and provides you with a simple single interface to browse them.
Let me be honest, I was not getting any traction till this May. I realized I need to be active and start doing marketing.
remote-frontend-jobsAfter all these finally, I started to receive some paid users for https://remotefront.io
Stats for last 30 days
I won't stop here, I will make improve remotefront.io day by day and hopefully by next year this time, https://remotefront.io would be a pretty known place for anyone looking for a remote job.

Inspiring story @sandeep1995.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you.
Nice looking site. Keep it up and keep striving forward!
Thank you.
Congrats Sandeep!
That is a very inspirational story.
Thank you.
Congratulations!
Thank you.
👏 Carry on without hesitation!
Thank you
Congz , Keep Going !!!! Love the UI/UX of remotefront !
Yeah, I designed the website myself. I actually taught myself UI/UX by purchasing and completing three Udemy courses on Adobe Illustrator and Figma.
You have an amazing story and I think a lot of people will resonate with it. Thank you for sharing. Also, the product is great. Just one question, why do you have a toggle for salary? I would assume people would what to see it by default.
Yeah, but not all the job boards provide Salary information.
Hence if I enable it by default, we won't see as many remote jobs. Currently, my scrapper runs every 12 hours. Every day we are adding around 100+ remote jobs in my platform https://remotefront.io/
Wow. Congratulations and so inspiring.
Thank you Mutale.
A lot of companies struggle with "why" they do what they do.
You have a clear and very inspiring story.
The story itself will attract others looking for a job.
Why don't use the story on your website?
Good idea. Soon remotefront.io will have a blog section. I will try to repost it there.
As an introvert myself, I never wrote this before or any other social media. This is the first time I have shared something like this.
I’m sure your story would be hugely inspiring to a large amount of people who could easily relate to you, I’d expect you could drive a lot of attention to your project and do a lot of good through this.
I actually know some people from India who are now earning in USD all from India. This was not possible without a remote job. It will really help the global economy.
I wrote an ebook on this https://sandeep1995.gumroad.com/l/software-engineer-130k-usd
Interesting story. May I ask you, what are you charging for?
To receive matched remote jobs so you can apply to them from your Inbox.
Congrats Sandeeb, consistency pays off at the end. BTW nice product and I like clear value proposition at the top of your page. Good luck going forward
Yeah, I will focus on SEO more this October.
Great job you’ve done with the website. Congrats!
I like the UI. Is clean and it works.
Your traction is impressive. Thanks for sharing your journey. It’s much appreciated.
Yeah, I wanted to create a very simple UI.
Congratulations, Sandeep! The site looks super nice! Just curious about the stack you decided to use here…
Thank you.
There are 4 services running
Thanks for sharing!
Great work Sandeep, please keep sharing your hustle about how to get traction... it will be most helpful to me for sure. marketing and selling online is most important for any indiehacker success.
remotefront.io is my second complete product. The first one is https://watchnetspeed.com (Feb 19) which received more than 330 product hunt upvotes.
Amazing stuff Sandeep, great mission, wish you all the success! Like that you've designed UX and built everything yourself, I did the same for ecompilot.net and afiliatree.com my businesses (including the little ecompilot.net conveyor belt animation, made in illustrator and after effects). Eventually, it makes sense to outsource and get a professional, but this is the proper indie hacker way to bootstrap yourself with not only money but also your mind and skills!
Do you have a LinkedIn as well? Would be great to connect.
Here it is https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandeep1995/
This is very inspiring @sandeep1995, I have struggle with learning her to code by myself and it is impresses me to see someone like you get the skills and improve your life dramatically. And now bootstrapping a company.
All the best for your journey. It's always a struggle and constant learning.
Great story, congratulations🎉
Beautiful story and a purposeful product. All the best @sandeep1995
Thank you Shovan
Hi, Your currency is in Rupee. How does Non-Indian user pay to you? For example, someone from USA.
No, Anyone from the world can purchase. It's $9/month.
My stripe dashboard shows it in my local currency.
Awesome
