Finally Reaching 400 Subscribers on My Build in Public Newsletter

Hi everyone!

After many weeks of writing consistently, my newsletter finally hit 400 subscribers at the end of 2021.

I launched this newsletter when I left my job in July this year to start my start-up. I wanted to have a place to share my journey, learning, and obstacles.

Running a weekly newsletter was a lot more challenging than I expected. Growth is slow and I didn't think I was going to meet this goal until 2022 - being able to meet the 400 subscriber milestone at the end of 2021 was huge for me.

Here are some things that worked for me:

Launch mini products to promote the newsletter

I launched a viral mini product, this gave me a big jump in growth.

Be Consistent and stick with the publishing schedule

Sticking with my schedule helps me develop the writing habit and motivate me to keep going

Set-up a good system for writing

It's hard to create content every week. Having a good system makes this less hard and helped me generate ideas and stick to my schedule.
