Finally shipped my first MVP and talked to my first user.

For the past few months, I have been focusing on ways to improve my personal productivity.

I realized that I am the most productive when I have others that are counting on me. At work, it is easy to get things done, but as a solo founder, it is challenging to stay disciplined.

So I researched as many accountability programs that I could find, and started testing.

I tried a few different chat apps, but while there can be a marginal benefit to accountability via messaging, it is easy to start ignoring the messages and churn.

So instead I created CommitCalls to host weekly calls with other makers to talk about what we are working on (what's working, and what's blocking us), and to set focus for the next week.

Last week I decided to actually set a first date, and I posted to a small subreddit to gauge interest. Only one person ended up showing up, but we had a really productive chat about our projects and I was able to set a few priorities for the next chat.

1. Create a landing page.
2. Recruit new users so that our next chat can benefit from a larger number of perspectives.
3. Enhance the call structure to ensure there are take home action items for all attendees.

My biggest takeaway from the first call is that even one random stranger counting on you can be the greatest motivator.
