After many months, I finally felt ready for my project to transition to subscription plans. This is pretty stressful, as it's the ultimate test of product-market fit. Launching subscriptions so late makes the weight of all the time invested feel heavier. Will my users stick around? Was it all worth it??
On the other hand, the typical advice to validate ideas and take payments very early forces you to build minimal viable products made of duct tape and mirrors, overpromising features and oversimplifying the product. My experience with such products as a client so far has led only to disappointment.
So I'm still finding the right balance, but I'm pretty satisfied with the end results and the feeling of being true to myself. ☺️
