Hey all, I have an interesting situation and wonder if anyone can relate.
I, myself, am a tech founder. I've been a developer, architect, and CTO of several agencies, SAAS companies, publishing companies, etc. I'd say that I'm more of a business & creative side of technology. I don't enjoy algorithms. I'd rather architect a system that has many working pieces.
Anyway, I have gone out on my own but am struggling to find any entrepreneurial sales partners. I have several working products that I'd enjoy bouncing off someone who is more sales / people-focused, but I'm struggling to connect with anyone.
I can and am building these products alone but I do working alongside a more people-focused entrepreneur.
I guess I see plenty of posts & questions about finding the tech partner. I seem to be having the opposite problem and wondering if others experience the same? I have the tech, niche & products started. I just would like the other side of the entrepreneurial coin.
The risk here is, that a technical founder builds something that isn't sellable... and delays reckoning with the problem by hiring a salesperson. "I'll build, you sell" only works when it's just absolutely certain the product will resonate with customers.
Best book for technical founders on how & why to do the first X sales yourself is Founding Sales by Pete Kazanjy https://www.foundingsales.com/
Nice. Thanks JHercules! I completely agree. I believe the best sellable products are a mix of both product and sales teams. We've got this cool prototype, what can we do to make it work in a market?
Maybe @harriskenny can give you some tips. He's running https://introcrm.com.
This is really cool @nikwen @harriskenny
I was just looking for a solution like that for my consultancy. Definitely interested in learning more.

I'd be happy to talk with you about the people/business side of things. I am almost the opposite of you. I came from a business/data science background, and I have dove into learning full-stack development.
You will probably find the best ones in real life, not in a Slack or forum. The good news is that salespeople are everywhere. If you have local software companies, try to meet salespeople there through connections, meetups and networking events.
like the concept, please reach out.
