Finding the good pricing

I'm new here, it's such a great place :)

Eventually I'm about to launch a side project I have developed more or less regularly the last months.
Since this project has infrastructure costs (and I would love to keep working on it), I want to set up a paid plan. However, it's hard to determine the value users will see in your app, hence, the price they would be ready to pay for it.

As I would like to reach specific (and sometimes small) audiences and would like - as well - to avoid bad buzz such as "OMG this is soooo expensive", I would love to hear some feedback on how you tackle this issue.
