Finished landing page - is the product clear enough?

Hey guys!

I've finished the landing page for the SaaS I've been working on.

Would you mind giving me some feedback on whether you feel it communicates the product and the value well enough?

And if not, what would you change or fix?

The target audience is home-owners in NSW, Australia, so somewhat slightly older users.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Edit: a side question, do you feel I should offer a free trial? 🤔

The video is almost entirely about your company and blah blah blah... would be more effective if it took the viewer on this journey:

    1. stage the end goal important to the viewer
    2. stage the problem preventing the goal from being realized
    3. provide subtle proof your company knows what it's doing (don't go overboard)
    4. position the solution (the product) as what will overcome the problem and allow the prospect to reach the end goal
    5. make the CTA

Ah you're so right Nick! I agree, the video needs some work to more efficiently address the exact problem and solution we're presenting. I'll have a talk to the "on air talent" and see if we can re-film it haha

Love the outline you've laid out as well, thanks for that, great to see it so logically explained

It's great. There's not too much going on (it's fine to help the people who decide to scroll through their deliberation to join, so all good about the long page).

I especially like these two aspects:

    • "The process of designing, approvals, and building seems to be so complicated, it's hard to know where to start". This empathizes with the pain that the audience is going through. Did you take the 30x500 course? Text likes this says to the visitor: "I feel heard".
    • Questions! I love that you make actual questions a part of the copy. No need to make these algorithmic... carefully chosen questions that connect with the mind of the visitor at that point in the page, those really help the visitor feel they're in the right spot.

Free trial? I'm not sure. I'm not even sure about the price's effect on building a critical mass of participation on both ends of the market.

Experts will be attracted to the possibility of exposure (for that price: cheap! and the yearly time frame creates commitment).

But home owners will likely hesitate to join not because of the price, but mainly because they might find their answer somewhere else. For a lot of questions, maybe you're competing with a call to the hardware store?

    Otherwise, sharp page.

Pascal this is all super awesome advice, thanks for taking the time to share so much feedback.

These questions are more tailored to larger jobs (extensions, second stories, building a garage, or an entire house), rather than smaller jobs, so the hardware store isn't quite the same in terms of advice, but maybe I should make that clearer so that there's no confusion.

Glad to hear the page isn't too long or cluttered, and that you like the two aspects you mentioned. I haven't taken the 30x500 course but maybe I should check it out!

      Thanks again!

I'd change the title to be more concrete, "Simplify the building process" could mean using lego bricks instead of real bricks. "Connect with industry experts on your next building project in NSW", or something (a bit long perhaps). I'd try to steer clear of "Simplify", "Easy" or words like that - anyone can say those things. What is it you actually do? Put that in the title (YCombinator have some workshops on this topic too).

Haha that's so true! Okay, perfect, too general then. I've updated it to read "A Q&A forum for talking directly to builders, architects, and experts". Very literal right now I know, but better than what I had previously. I'll see if I can improve it over the next few days. Thanks very much for the advice!

I find the product idea pretty clear. Well done. My question is, who is your target customer, a regular person wanting to modify their home? Maybe I just missed that part tho.

Thanks @Ponzu! Ah, that's a really good point! Okay excellent, I've just amended the intro paragraph to include:

"The Find Your Builder Community makes it easy to get answers, learn, and simplify the building process in NSW for property owners, homeowners, and investors"

Thanks for the feedback, that's really helpful :)

Great advice! I'm actually in the middle of preparing all of this at the moment; videos, blog posts, and articles/guides on common building processes and knowledge, to get some of that SEO traffic and establish a bit of a personality on the site. Thanks for the help!
