Finished my MVP!

http://www.downping.com

Hey makers, I'd love to introduce you to my most recent project, Downping!

Like probably most of you I have a lot of projects going on at the same time and sometimes struggle maintaining all of them and making sure they're available and have no issues.

Rather than having to configure each project individually with its own suite of tools, monitoring, bug tracking, etc I wanted one simple interface that would let me set and forget, all of the monitoring I would need for my projects. Let me create as many endpoints as I want, check them every 5 minutes, and send me an email if there are any issues! Super fast and easy to setup, then be able to relax and focus on the important things.

Yes, it's another 'website monitoring tool' but it's free and you can monitor as many websites as you want. In the spirit of the 'lean startup' I wanted to release this project even though I haven't finished the features that will differentiate this service from the existing solutions.

Any feedback is welcome, no need to sugarcoat. And if there are any features you think are missing or would like to see please share your ideas!

Cool, excited to test this out! I added my personal site.

PS: If you aren't passing the URL from the homepage onward, I would update the field/CTA, a bit annoying to enter it there then when I get inside it's lost.

Great callout, I agree I've seen a few people frustrated with that and it's definitely a feature I need to finish. Planning on using that to allow new visitors into the app without having to create a full account, expecting to ship this within the next week or so. Thanks for feedback!

I like the homepage. I think it could use a screenshot of the actual app though.

Also you 100% need an SSL certificate to look legitimate. You can get a free one from letsencrypt.org. Not having one is a red flag to me.

Great points, SSL is on the roadmap but I agree and it should take only a few minutes to setup! Also I am currently wireframing some new homepage layouts that include screenshots. Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome Stealth, out of curiosity BTW how are you planning to offer it as free service?

Thanks! Planning to soon add business plans and additional premium features, next on the list is higher frequency monitoring.

Consider adding a pricing link to the header and footer. It’s one of the first things ‘organic’ visitors will usually look for.

Nothing in life is free, so it probably won’t hurt you to also show a “enterprise” package. In that way you might even establish more trust, because you show that you’re able to cater to larger organizations.

The landing page and website look good, it appeared to a very trustful source to me.

Thanks, really appreciate this feedback. I'll definitely include some pricing information, I agree even if it is free, people will look for it and it conveys trust!
