Landing Page Feedback February 20, 2020

Finished revamping my landing page. Looking for feedback.

Bradley Kingsley @thekingofbees

It's an e-commerce platform based in Nairobi, mostly for shoes but I'm looking to diversify once everything settles down.

Specifically, I'd like to ask: do you feel like something is missing? (I personally feel like it's too short but I have no idea what to add)

Edit: link https://the2500.store

I'm viewing it on mobile. The red shoes in the header is stretched vertically. Gives a "fake" vibe to site immediately.

As others have mentioned, you can just say "it's the real thing" rather than "similar to the real thing"

The images of the products either don't load it took to long to load. So I quit scrolling.

Also, I'd recommend putting your most important copy, such as your statement of authenticity in an image slider with photos/illustrations that visually describe the copy it accompanies. Landing on a fashion site and seeing that many text before I see product images makes me want to leave the site quickly.

Interesting. I hadn't thought about that! I'll definitely find a way to lose the text.

Why is the "500%" in red?

    1. 1

Well, that's a long story. The gist of it is that it saves me the trouble of having to explain why it's called 'the2500Store' to begin with.

The idea is that people will jump to their own conclusions about what '500%' means. In comparison '2500' has a whole history behind it.

      1. 2

Ok well i’ll be honest with you... that’s pretty much the worst and most confusing design decision I’ve ever heard in my life.

I don’t even know what to say.

        1. 1

Worst? Really? Why do you say that?

          1. 2

Well it's a pretty obvious thing on the site. I would wager many people might say "why is the 500% part in red?"

However you can't answer the question.

"The idea is that people will jump to their own conclusions about what '500%' " -> I'm not being a dick but what the hell is that supposed to mean lol. You hope people will jump to their own conclusions??

"In comparison '2500' has a whole history behind it."

            well..... what is the history??

Saying "are sufficiently similar to the real thing" still implies they are not the real thing. Just say "are the real thing".

The design is good, but the header needs to be centered.

What I don't get is why? Why are you limiting yourself to Nairobi? Are you trying to be a local business? Then why is your name something that has nothing to do with Nairobi?

What I get from your landing:
You sell shoes for local stores and you deliver them the next day? Why wouldn't I just go to the store and try them on?

No More Fake Jordans. No More Counterfeit Yeezys.

We'll help you realize what it means to be original.

We deliver high-quality, authentic shoes delivered right to your doorstep

but WAIT - I just read this

All our shoes undergo a verification process to ensure they are sufficiently similar to the real thing.

All in all, seems like you did a good job on the design. I love the fashion game and seeing something built like this is awesome - I hope you stick to it and grow into your dream business. Best of luck

Edit: Nice job on your FAQ's

I'm limiting myself to Nairobi for now because it seems like a great idea to start small and expand as I go. But tbh, I've never thought of it like that. That's a real head-scratcher.

You sell shoes for local stores and you deliver them the next day? Why wouldn't I just go to the store and try them on?

Not exactly... For now, there is no physical store (I suppose I should make that more clear). It's direct-to-consumer. I thought of making a marketplace instead but that needs way too much overhead.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.

So you're like grailed but for your city only?

Also, do you sell authentic brands or not?

        1. 1

Interesting! I've never heard of Grailed, so thanks for the intro! Well, think of it like Grailed, but with only one person doing all the listings, which is me.

Well, it's currently limited to Nairobi, but if it goes on well enough I do plan on expanding to other cities. But from the way I see it, Nairobi has very huge potential as it is, so I'm in no rush.

          Yep. All authentic.
